THINKING
How to reflect the movement of the rubber band and wood. Observations carried over from a previous project; shaping clay with a repeated hand movement. Refinement of angles and proportions to suspend the movement in a still object.
PROTOTYPES
During this project I was also weaving on a loom. It reminded me of the different states of the rubber band and wood. Exploration of making the form move or stay stagnant, and how the lines could create tension as reflected in the rubber bands.
FABRICATION
The final model made from pink foam, cut and sanded. Over 10 layers of spackle and white gesso. A piece of styrene added to the top as a designated place for the hand to rest.
