INTERACTION
I explored different areas of the car this experience could be located, and how it would be accessed. After much pivoting, I designed a container with a lid that is able to fold into itself for a quick, mess-free meal. A tray that rests on the steering wheel acts as a table surface, which can then be folded and stored away under the containers.
PROTOTYPES
Trials of different ideas for a meal or snacking experience in both a moving and parked vehicle. Tested prototypes in the MINI Countryman at a local MINI dealership.
FORM
Observing MINI's visual brand language, specifically the MINI Countryman. The Countryman balances MINI's bubbly, round nature with structural, straight lines. The textile pull tab on the center console box was a detail directly applied to the container's handle.
3D PRINTED MODEL
Tape acts as living hinge. Standard ice pack fits underneath the removable container of the larger box to keep food cold.
